Create New Appointment Type

This guide will walk you through the process of creating a new appointment type in your clinic management system. Appointment types define the services you offer, their duration, pricing, and associated requirements.

Prerequisites

Before creating appointment types, ensure you have:

  • Admin access to your clinic management system
  • Provider(s) created
  • Form templates created

Step 1: Access Appointment Types

  1. Navigate to your clinic management dashboard
  2. Click on Clinic Management in the main menu
  3. Select the Appointment Types tab

Step 2: Create New Appointment Type

  1. Click the "New Appointment Type" button to start creating a new appointment type

Step 3: Fill in Basic Information

Enter the following information for your new appointment type, here are some examples:

  • Name: "New Appointment Type Demo"
  • Price: $100
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Description: "This is the description of a new appointment type!"

Use the Tab key to navigate between fields efficiently.

Step 4: Select Providers

Choose which providers will be available for this appointment type:

  1. Review the list of available providers
  2. Check the boxes next to providers who can perform this service
  3. Consider provider specialties and availability when making selections

Step 5: Configure Required Forms

Select the forms that patients must complete when booking this appointment type:

  1. Review available form templates
  2. Select forms that are relevant to this service
  3. Common forms include:
    • Patient intake forms
    • Medical history questionnaires

Step 6: Publish the Appointment Type

  1. Click the "Publish" button to make the appointment type visible in your widget
  2. This step makes the appointment type available for booking by patients

  1. Click "Create" to finalize the appointment type
  2. Your new appointment type will appear in the appointment types list
  3. Verify all information is correct

Naming Conventions

  • Use clear, descriptive names

Provider Assignment

  • Only assign providers who are qualified for the service
  • Consider provider availability and scheduling preferences
  • Review assignments regularly as your team changes
